Now that the rain has stopped here on the SunCoast and M has the weekend off, we packed up the car for a little road trip to Venice Beach. We have been to several beaches in the area since the big move so when we heard that you could search for sharks teeth in the surf we decided to give it a try. The drive was short and sweet (45min) and traffic was almost nonexistent. We were able to park right next to the beach near facilities, which when you have 3 boys is a must.
The first picture is right off the boardwalk near the parking lot. We walked a little bit down from here and found some serious shells, so everyone pretty much stopped and started digging. I went into the water to start the tooth hunting, but oldest plopped right down and started adding shells to our shell bag. Our boys are use to the Atlantic waters in Virginia, so seeing whole shells is a treat. Most people we saw on the beach had all kinds of tooth-hunting tools and took their hunting pretty seriously. Guess I’ll need to read-up on this, but between the five of us, we found ten or so teeth. Enough that the boys were very pleased with themselves and the trip was declared a success. (Please don’t ask about the shaved head…all 4 boys have it….I guess it’s a summer thing M wanted to do.
